RECORDING IS MORE THAN PRESSING RECORD

A great recording session isn’t just about having a good microphone. It’s about getting the artist comfortable, choosing the right microphone and recording chain, capturing the right performance and knowing when something needs to change. At Starcity, our engineers understand the technical side of recording and the music itself.

That means we can help with things like:

  • Vocal performance

  • Microphone selection and positioning

  • Vocal arrangement

  • Harmonies and ad-libs

  • Comping and editing

  • Vocal tuning

  • Recording levels and signal flow

  • Creative direction

  • Production decisions

  • Session organisation

If something isn’t working, we’ll tell you. If we hear an opportunity to make the record better, we’ll suggest it.

And if you simply need someone to capture your performance and let you create, we’ll give you the space to do that too. The goal isn’t simply to finish the session. It’s to leave with something you’re genuinely proud of.

1. YOU GET IN TOUCH

Tell us what you’re working on and what you want to achieve.

You don’t need to know exactly what you need. We’ll help you work it out.

2. WE PREPARE

Before the session, we’ll make sure the studio and recording setup are ready for your project.

If you’re working with production or reference tracks, we’ll make sure we’re prepared to work efficiently.

3. YOU ARRIVE & GET SETTLED

We want you to feel comfortable before you start recording.

We’ll talk through the session, the music and what you’re hoping to achieve.

4. WE RECORD

Our engineer handles the technical side while you focus on the performance.

Where appropriate, we’ll also help with vocal direction, arrangement and creative decisions.

5. WE REVIEW

We’ll listen back, identify anything that needs another take or adjustment and make sure we’re happy with what we’ve captured.
